Location and Walking

Chapel Farmhouse is located 5 miles off the Pennine Way and three miles off the Coast to Coast and Dales Cycle Way.

It is ideally situated for those who enjoy the outdoor life, with diverse well sign-posted paths and bridleways for walking or mountain biking as well as facilities for fishing and picnicking. Well-worn paths lead to the once rich mines on Whaw Edge, Faggergill Moor and Chert quarry in the Black Hills.

For those who prefer gentler walks, the banks of the Arkle through Scar House and Booze Wood and to Reeth beyond can be enjoyed.

During the summer months there are local guided walks. In the nearby Dales are agricultural shows, brass band and choir concerts, exhibitions, illustrated lectures, craft and local produce fairs and other local events to which visitors are very welcome. Other visitor attractions include traditional craft shops, breweries, cheesemakers, countryside museums and town markets - all with their own character.
